Are Blitzortung data secret? Why? - jumpjack - 2014-06-18
I do not have needed skill and money to buy, build, install, configure and maintain a Blitzortung detector/transmitter.
Will Blitzortung raw data remain secret for ever for me?!?
I'd like to do some statistical analysis on them.

The main reason is to promote participation in the network. If the raw data is freely available, it removes a motivation to participate.
