Hello,

I have made some (maybe) interesting maps animation from Blitzortung.org data during year 2015 over Europe.

First is timelapse of 90 minute history images with 10 minute step. Look at summer fronts above continent and winter "electrified" cyclones in Mediterranean area.

Second is GIF animation of monthly merged lightning strikes into European map.

Nice! Especially the Gif is really cool!
btw; the map for the Netherlands is incorrect; It shows water in some area's that are below sealevel, but are definitely dry;-)
