Hello,

I have made some (maybe) interesting maps and animation from Blitzortung.org data during year 2017 over Europe.

First is timelapse movie of 90 minute strikes Lightning  history with 10 minute step.

Second is GIF animation of monthly merged lightning strikes into European map.

Nice work Lukas, Looks great full screen. Thanks for posting :-)
Thanks for the excellent videos. One can see clearly how the weather systems move and also that winter lightning is mostly over the warmer sea and summer lightning over the hot land. Great!

Mesmerising. Took me a while to realise that the pulsing is due to the daily cycle. A small small analogue clock face showing time of day would be a useful addition.
Very cool. Thanks for sharing. Smile

RongeLuk, that is an incredible animation, really nice!!

I did a similar thing with North Atlantic ssta sourcing Nullshool images during the 'cold blob' phase a few years ago. I screen shotted each day and ran through an animation program, but suspect you have done something different??
Would you feel able to let me know how you achieved yours? id greatly appreciate it as my method was very timeconsuming!!
Many Thanks
Mark
Nice animation you have there, it’s really interesting to watch that! Also, didn’t 2017 NOAA started deployment of Geostationary Lightning Mappers aboard their GOES-R class satellites in 2017?
