Hello Joseph,
as far as I can see there are very few stations active in Africa and around. All of them seem to be listed on the Europe page of LMO. There is one each in Malawi, Namibia and South Africa and there are four stations east of Africa in La Reunion. Two are north west of Africa on Spanish and Portuguese islands. Too less stations for a dedicated region. Minimum 11 stations have to send matching signals to detect a stroke.

Poorly covered regions such as Nigeria are given preferential treatment.

When new detectors are available, interested parties in poorly covered regions are supplied first.

Hi Joseph,
I have not visited the forum in a few months and I only see your post now.
It would be excellent if you could help join and build the Africa network ! Africa has very few stations, too thin to have proper coverage, so every additional station in Africa goes a very long way to help roll out our network into Africa.
Happy to answer any questions privately.

Roger

I see the only unit in South Africa - Pretoria has been offline since July 2025.
I have entered my details and would love to host one here in Pretoria as well

Hello,
I would love to see some more detectors in Africa
even more in the Southern Hemisphere. As per Eric's post it's easy to download the order list and reach to the email listed. I had a smooth ordering and setup experience.Finding the right place with power, Internet and not too much interference is more chalenging/interresting.
Really looking forward to see a much needed detectors in or around Pretoria.
Best regards,
Marc

Thanks for the encouragement
I have placed the order with Egon, all items are in-stock so I expect only a couple weeks from now I should receive it.I also noticed you have a couple units running in Africa - Do you perhaps have some photos of your installations and setup?
What kind of position does the Antenna require for best results?
I see some units are running older firmware'sres, no need to update those?

Hello, it's very nice to see you are onboarding. As soon as your station is up and registered, your status on the forum will be upgraded and you will have access to more forums. Many people have posted photos of their installation.
From my little personal experience, the 'quieter' place are the best. I had good success with a station in the basement. On the other hand, my autonomous house have a lot of interferences due to solar inverters (and I'm still working on this).
I have, indeed, deployed a few station in central Africa, one more to be switched-on soon in Togo and I'm trying to send another one in the Horn of Africa.
Your contribution from the south will be very much appreciated. By the way; someone in Pretoria (from this thread) still own a working red station

Kind regards,
Marc
