Hi,

I have made some (maybe) interesting maps and animation from Blitzortung.org data during whole year 2018 over Europe (and surroundings).

First is timelapse movie of 90 minute strikes [Image: lightning.png]  history with 10 minute step.

Second is GIF animation of monthly merged lightning strikes into European map.

That was great, especially the You Tube video.  The diurnal cycle was quite evident during the mid year period with the southern areas favoured at the beginning and end of the year.  The music was a good compliment to the video too.
Very cool. Thanks for sharing! Smile

Hi Lukas,
congrats for the idea and the tedious work.
I've spread the youtube link to my friends and they all enjoy it as well as I do.
Thanks again.
Cheers Hans
It's illuminating! Lightnings and bad weather are related with greenhouse gas emission. If greenhouse gas increase, we will receive more lightnings by 2071–2100!
