Can radar be disabled?

Seems that radar really slows down my lightningmaps display.
I recall in earlier months being able to toggle radar on and off, and kept it off.
Now I seem to be unable to find where to turn radar display off.
Any help?

On my IE 11, I usually have to 'reload page' to see the extra controls ...
