System Blue in VP8 - Roger_G0SWC - 2016-05-11 Greetings all, I'm very new to this Forum so here goes: I'm heading for the Falkland Islands (VP8) very shortly. I don't think there are many or any Blitzortung stations in Falklands nor that many in South America. Hoping to obtain and set up a "Blue" station in VP8 South Atlantic is not the most dense area for lightning so may prove interesting. Roger VP8DBR RE: System Blue in VP8 - RichoAnd - 2016-05-12 It can be VERY interesting. The next step is to contact private weather stations in southern Argentina and tell them about the project Good luck /Richo http://geology.com/articles/lightning-map.shtml RE: System Blue in VP8 - Roger_G0SWC - 2016-05-12 (2016-05-11, 20:59)Roger_G0SWC Wrote: Greetings all, RE: System Blue in VP8 - Roger_G0SWC - 2016-05-12 Hi RichoAnd, Thank you for the reply, Can you or other Blitzortunger's point me in the direction of designs / drawings / plans for suitable antennas I expect I will try a pair (or 3) of Ferrite cores, also looking at loop and or other wire antennas, helix twists etc. Biggest problem in VP8land is Wind! have to make antennas suitably physically strong!
