long term statistics possible? - dlen - 2016-07-23

Hi,

IMO it would be interesting to be able to answer statistical questions like

How many lightning happened per year in this and this region (europe, germany, france, northern america......)?

With this, one could look if there's a trend, which could be attributed to climate change.

Does such a possibility exist?

greetings - Dominik

You already can see such statistics on Lightningmaps.org. The numbers raised very much during the last years due to improvements in our network. So it's not possible to use it for climatological research.
