Hi. I want.
Hi,

Ordering Queue and Procedure might be the same if I want to renew my System RED (#683) to System Blue?

I already sent post via that cover your area link.

Cheers.

Best,

Jeff

PM Me
Hi Jeff, I am in a low coverage area in the North-west of Spain and if this system is still available I would be very willing to buy it.
Kindest regards,

Brian.
Hi All, My Kit arrived yesterday and this evening I soldered in the components that came with it.
Except the LEDs?
3 x LED red
2 x LED green
1 x LED yellow
1 x LED blue
I finally had an empty bag, but I was missing the LEDs. (You can't imagine how disappointed I was. Huh Sad )
Reading through the instructions again I discovered that they are part of the enclosure box that I did not order.
So now I am stuck.
I presume that these LEDs are needed for the kit to function? (It does not give any details on type?)
Maybe on Monday I can pick up these at the hobby shop in the city. I do not wish to buy hundreds of them!
However, I would like to make the suggestion, to save anyone else this inconvenience:-

Idea That as these LEDs are soldered on the main board, they should be included along with the rest of the components that fit on the main board. Idea

The few extra cents that these would cost to include in the components bag is negligible compared to the price of the kit.
The inconvenience for someone like me that lives in the country and has to rely on public transport, (only three buses per/day and only two at weekends and holidays!?!) is really quite considerable.
Thank you.

Brian.
Without eclosure, you don't need extra LEDs. There are already LEDs soldered on the controller PCB.

Thank you Robo, Not being someone current with electronics, I built the kit by following the pictures!
The last time I soldered anything, Diodes were in glass bottles, and so recognising smd LEDs as opposed to the other smd components would not be my forte. Confused
So now having that answered I will apply some power, and see if anything lights up.
Getting there slowly.

Jeff - is it still for sale?

O.K. Well, it did not blow-up! The Leds seem to be sensible, judging from other peoples video and the voltages appear to be about right.
I have a external GPS antenna on order from eBay and it should be here this week, the GPS does not lock at all at the moment, even with a passive improvised patch indoors.
Thanks to everybody who answered my questions, I have read a lot of forum posts and I was expecting the worst, but so far I am content with how it has gone, so far!
Kindest regards,

Brian.  Smile
Sad
Well, looks like I won't be getting a System Blue Sad as someone else in my town already has a system up and running so that would put me at the bottom of the priority list since my area is covered.

Is it possible to make contact with the station owner? I would like to see the system in person.

Station 1781 in Royersford, PA. I live on Chapel Rd.

Thanks,

Tim
Wonder why these PCBs are not produced en masse ... mass production makes the boards cheaper, makes production faster and reduces frustration of the 2700 people on the waiting list. We're all very eager to participate in this wonderful project. Can't see how the project admins don't perceive this.

The PCB's are produced in small production runs as time and money permits. Remember, this is a hobby, not a full time job. All of the developers have full time jobs, families, etc. The kits are put together in their spare time as orders are paid for and processed, not before. In addition, as the boards are constantly being revised/improved as time goes on, there could be issues in production runs that require modifications to correct the issues that arise. This takes time.

Respectfully,

John

I may then know a person, who is also on the waiting list, who may then be very eager to help with PCB production - he's an electrician and knows PCB production and has actually suggested to make one himself. If his help would be useful in speeding up production... let me know and we can see what can be arranged.

This will need to be answered by Tobi or Egon, but I doubt they are willing to share that information. That is their call.

That likely won't change you position in the queue. As far as contacting them, while members know exactly where other stations are - and cannot provide that info outside of the group -  we don't know who the owner is.

I don't see where the owner of that station has ever been on the forum - no posts with that ID listed, or town mentioned. I'd PM them with your post if they were.

Hi,

Congrats for this collaborative work! I'd like to assembly one station in Brazil.
How can I check my position in the ordering list?

Thanks,
Eng. Dr. Mauricio Ballarotti
