You have to be a contributing member of the Blitzortung network. do you have an installed and operational Blitzortung system? If not and you're interested in building your own lightning detector, check out the info under the "Cover your Area" tab. Be advised that you need to have some decent soldering skills and be somewhat familiar with printed circuit boards and their components.

Also, check out the Blitzortung section of the WXFORUM. It can be found at:

Several of us have offered to construct stations for others.
I've built 5 complete stations and sent 4 of them to others.
Where are you? I'd be surprised if there isn't someone who'd help you out.

Thanks for the help!

I sent a unit to AL about 6 weeks ago. The recipient writes:

"Ross,
The unit arrived in great shape. The packing job was first rate--I think Santa Claus would have been jealous of your technique."

International postage is substantial, but I'd be prepared to build more complete units for people if you don't have the skill/time to do it yourself, and can't find someone closer to help out!

Log in into the blitzortung.org website and then click on the "forum" tab.

You should be logged in automagically.
