I need to downsize and as it won't be so easy for me to erect the E-field detector, it's reluctantly time to sell my System Blue. The kit's been working for several years without incident. I gather System Blue Classics are currently out of stock so this is a good opportunity for someone who's waiting for one.

The kit is fully assembled and comes with 2 matched, original Blitzortung ferrites and a GPS antenna. All you will need to get it working are the connecting leads and a 5V power supply.

The price is €300 + the cost of postage from NSW Australia.

If you have any questions, please don't hesitate to let me know. Edit: 'Please include your email address so I can reply.'

I connected the 3224 receiver online a few days ago and everything was working perfectly until yesterday when it started having GPS problems.
I've tried configuring several speeds on the serial port and it's not working. My receiver is a Blue Basic PCB 22.x. Can anyone tell me what I can do? I'm thinking of buying another GPS antenna in case it's faulty, but I doubt it.

Hi everyone,
I’m new to the forum and still learning how the Blitzortung/LightningMaps system works, so I hope this is an appropriate place to ask. I’m considering setting up my first H-field station in a fairly dense urban area, and I’m trying to understand what kind of antenna placement would give the best results.
My main concern is electrical noise. I live in an apartment building with plenty of nearby power lines, elevators, and general broadband interference. I’ve read that proper antenna orientation and distance from buildings can make a big difference, but I’m still uncertain about what is “good enough” before I invest in a kit.
A few questions:

How far from a building wall or metal balcony should an H-field antenna ideally be placed to reduce noise pickup?

Does height matter more than horizontal distance from electrical sources?

Would placing the antenna on a rooftop help, or can rooftop equipment (HVAC, solar inverters) actually make interference worse?

Are there any practical noise-testing steps I can do before buying hardware?

I’d really appreciate any tips from members who run stations in similarly noisy environments. Looking forward to learning more and hopefully contributing to the network soon!

I have a question, and I don't mean to be antagonistic. I am a sailor. I have been sailing around the globe for many years and I try to use all of the available information to me to inform my decision making. In the tropics, particularly near the equator, lightning is a very real risk. I have had three strikes within 200m of me, and a direct strike is on the order of $50,000USD and 1 year of time to repair. I know four friend boats that have been hit.
My question is this - and please if you have something to contribute, talk about independent observations to calculated results. Not about "here's the math for the calculated result"
How is accuracy measured with this platform? In simple terms - if there is a set of data that represents real actual strikes or cloud-to-cloud - position and time that we've used to validate?
