Volcanic Lightning Taal Eruption

I watched the video of the eruption and its amazing how after almost 40 years, Taal volcano erupted! Its amazing how lightning can be formed from electrical discharge in the eruption.

I noticed from the video that there was a lot of lightning in the Taal’s eruption. I think its because of the plume that reached high into the freezing atmosphere from the eruption. Then ice particles formed and started colliding thus creating lightning.
