I read in the what's new section from July 2024 that the metal housing for System blue mini was in preparation, is it ready/available now?

Many thanks

Hello,

I am of course also interested.
So far it is either a plastic case designed for electrical purposes, which works well but is not aesthetic at all.
Or a nicer aluminum case like for example the AKG 105 30 100 ME, but this requires some drilling, cutting and filing skills!
I am looking forward to a simpler and nicer option.

This is true art. I honestly love it.
For the detectors I'm trying to host in someone else living room I have order some more aluminium cases and a friend of mine have a CNC Rolleyes

Great, that looks good! Lightning

Some time ago I thought about creating 3D printed housings, but had no time/motivation so far. With PETG or ABS they would also be outdoor proof.

If someone designed boxes for 3D printers, are .stl files somewhere on some model repository or can be uploaded here ?

Are plastic or metal ones better for lightning detection systems.

A >IP67 rated unit with some RF protection would be best. The IP rating keeps the water and dust out and the RF keeps some of the noise out.

Both can be done with metal or plastic. I prefer a nice metal case but that is just personal preferance.
