The Position Options stopped working a long time ago...  Position Icon in options menu in the upper right of the screen is "black" not active linked like the others.  You'd click on it and NOTHING would happen

RECENTLY, I tried it again and the options drop down opened, and I thought, AWESOME!!!  But... it won't let you check "ON" for either selection.  <frown>

Browser:  Firefox, latest update, Windows 10 PRO, fully updated. "Allow Position Info" permission set to "ALLOW".
Chrome?  Same exact deal.....  All other options function, just not position.

I REALLY miss having my location marked on the map....  Any ideas?

Hallo,

Lightbulb Change Location: already possible?/idea
Posted by: Mic - 2018-05-15, 14:13 - Forum: Website, Maps and Applications - Replies (4)

Hi there,
I´ve got a question on lightningmaps.org: Is it possible to change the location?
As far as I know, the location is determined automatically via IP address, consequently it can´t be changed manually. The problem is that sometimes this method is not very precise, e. g. in my case: According to my IP, I live more than 60 kilometres away from my home (I suppose that the IP address I use actually matches the place where my provider drives its server). This problem might concern many users since the IP location differs form your real position, too, if you use Tor, VPN or even if you live in the countryside.
In my opinion, it would be great if it was possible to enter a position so that your location (or any location) would be marked (like an IP location currently is marked).
What do you think?
Kind regards,
Mic

  Wifi Via USB?
Posted by: andycrofts - 2018-05-12, 08:22 - Forum: General Discussion - Replies (1)

Hi
System Blue - as a lot of folks use Wifi, rather than connect their 'devices' to internet by cable, is the USB connector 'smart' enough for me to hang a WiFi dongle (via an adapter cable, 'natch) to it? Or do I need to get a WiFi - CAT cable converter?
Thanks
Andy, Oulu, Finland.

  External Projects list
Posted by: skiter - 2018-05-08, 15:32 - Forum: Website, Maps and Applications - Replies (2)

Hello all. A newbie here (from Spain).

Looking at the website, it calls to new project developers to be "different from existing projects", but I'm not finding any list of projects (did I mention, I'm newbie here?).

I'm also interested on taking a look into the available data, before thinking on a new project, but it also claims it's only for contributors.

Could you give me some "light"  about this? Wink

Thank you in advanced.

  System Blue not received yet
Posted by: EA3BNF - 2018-05-01, 15:07 - Forum: General Discussion - Replies (4)

I know the long waiting list of Blitzortung but I paid more than two months ago after order confirmation and I have not yet received the system blue 19.4.

Is this delay normal?  Huh

Manuel

  Quiet quiet day in NA

Very dead day lightning wise in region 3. Looking at three of the sites in NC, virtually no signals.

  Noise abatement
Posted by: SteveQlQ - 2018-04-17, 00:07 - Forum: Hardware, Software, Lightning Physics - Replies (5)

Hello. My system Blue is working, but I would like to optimize it and eliminate or try to cut down some of the noise. I am using 2 200mm ferrites which are placed indoors in the same room as the controller. Here are three screen grabs of my signals during a quiet time..no lightning and no "faults" where all 3 LED's are lit. The last trace (channel 2A)seems to me to be the most problematic; it appears as a sawtooth well above 0 volts. Could this be a power supply issue or external rf interference from some yet indeterminate source?

Thanks,  Steve
