For those of us making our own enclosures for the system blue, I have made a piece of artwork that may be useful to some of you for creating a front panel.
Also, I have created a back panel to be made as a PCB, this can be opened using Sprint Layout.
Dropbox Files
Kind regards,
James

Hello,
I am currently developing a new image for the detector data with statistical informtion of the last 4 weeks. The image should help to recognized interference times and other probems.
Here is an exampl of my detector
https://map.blitzortung.org/statistic_1....ation=2656$region=1&minutes_composed=10
Parameters are
station
region
minutes_composed
header_line 0/1 switches the heading off / on
header_text 0/1 switches the color explanations on / off
drawing_area_height 1-300 defines the scale height.
weeks 1-4 limits the display to the last weeks
time_zone -11/12 adjust the rtime scaling to local time
background_transparent 0/1 set background color to transparent
Greetings,
Egon

Additional detection of sound? |

Has it ever been considered to add additional detection of sound to the system, or maybe to have a different (simpler) system that can be used to detect the origin of loud sounds?
As sound travels a lot slower than light, it would likely be sufficient to have an NTP-synced clock instead of a local GPS receiver. But of course it never hurts to have it.
However, to have useful use of such a detection it needs more stations than the lightning detection system currently has.
Still, much of the basic principles would be the same, so maybe it could be done as an addition or as a second project within Blitzortung.org?
Application: location of the source of explosions, shootings, fireworks etc in a local area.

Detector link color choice for map |

I'm using the latest (v 3.6) map to watch activity in region 3, or the North America display, where I live in Wisconsin, USA.
Of course we participants are interested in our systems, when strikes are used for calculations and other signs of participation. We have pride in participation.
I'm wondering, to that end, if there is a way to set a specific color to display when my station is used, in order to have that detector link color be unique to my stations and the rest of the links displayed be the color that is chosen from the configuration box?
I know it seems a wee bit self-important to do this, but if there were some way to have that coloration be different, it would for me at least make it a little more fun to watch the system in action.

BO's live vector map can now be easily integrated on websites with a fixed map. The easiest way is as iframe. Here is an example.
http://map.blitzortung.org/mapexample.html
The various parameters are self-explanatory.
The following parameters with the values 0=false and 1=true are for the controls.
