Hello
since a few hours my blue sys can't find any satellites. The blue GPS indicator on the frontside illuminates for approx. 1 sec, the pauses for approx. 2 sec.
No PPS pulse. Antenna device is MEDIATEK. Any hints what is going wrong here? Had the same troubles already some weeks ago but they disappeared suddenly.
Cheers
Hans

Hey there,
Reasonably new participant to the blitzortung project here.
I've got two stations. one that I will be bringing to Nepal if all goes well; the other will stay hosted in Amsterdam.
From tomorrow till the beginning of the 31st of Dec, i'll be at 34C3, the yearly conference of the CCC germany that'll be in Leipzig this year.
If there's anyone that'd want to meet up there; come look for 'Justa' somewhere around the HSNL/Techinc assemblies.
I'm also bringing a fridge with home-brewed beer; so that might also be an extra incentive to come meet up.
You can also , of course, drop a private message here; i'll try to look from time to time.
Perhaps see some (other) participants or tech-heads of the project, there.

| Electric vs Magnetic antenna |

Hello,
Does any one know the range (km) that Electric signal can detect? My guess is that Magnetic antenna (H) detects strikes in longer distances than Electric antenna. I see more detections (signals and effectivity L) with ferrite antennal than E antenna.
I am also thinking of adding a filter to Magnetic channel. Of the 3 H field channels, which would work best?

I just finished soldering system blue in Kenya. Now I want to I want to set up an account with Blitzortung, but I don't I can't locate it. On the manual documentation, it is stated:
"On the web page of the internal web server, you find a link to request an account for Blitzortung.org. Follow the instructions in the email you will receive. The account is associated with your email address.
"
Where is this "Internal web Server"? and how do I get the link?
Thanks,
Gilbert
