  What's next for www.lightningmaps.org?
Posted by: Station_Roko - 2025-05-10, 04:25 - Forum: General Discussion - Replies (9)

Hello,

As in the topic what's next for www.lightningmaps.org? Is it possible to restore this service to full functionality and update the data, and if that's impossible then it should be disabled because I don't think it provides real station locations. By the way, I've always really liked this map and the way the data is presented on this service. Maybe I could rebuild this database after contacting the developer.

My user is 671 and my station is 1723 in Rochester, Minnesota, USA

In the "station list" option my station is listed in multiple REGIONS other than North America

Is it possible to limit the REGION to North America?

How do I correct the Regions?

MyBo it doesn't work in PHP8

Hello, I would also like some advice. I run the website: http://www.burkovyradar.sk I use the MyBlitzortung project. It has already been resolved. The website runs under PHP7.4. However, the hosting operator requires at least PHP8. The problem is that it no longer works under PHP8.0. Can you please help her with this? Thank you.   Request to correct the position of station on the map www.lightningmaps.org
Posted by: Station_Roko - 2025-05-02, 07:18 - Forum: Website, Maps and Applications - Replies (1)

Hello, dear colleagues.

After several years of working in the previous location, I finally moved the 2527 station to a new place, which was also an opportunity to update the firmware to the latest stable version. I hope that the new location will be much more beneficial due to less industrial external interference. At the same time, I would like to ask for an update of the display of my 2527 station's position on the www.lightningmaps.org map. It seems to me that many people still use this map and the fact that this small circle is not in the right place causes me discomfort Wink

Thank you in advance and best regards.

New User – How Accurate Are Local Strikes on the Map?
Posted by: fiasco - 2025-04-23, 09:12 - Forum: General Discussion - Replies (1)

I’m new to Blitzortung and just started diving into the lightning maps—super fascinating stuff! I'm located in central Italy and noticed that sometimes the strikes shown on the map are very close to where I am, almost too precise. I’m wondering, how accurate is the positioning of individual lightning strikes, especially in regions with fewer stations?
Also, does the number of active detectors in an area significantly affect the data I see? For example, if only a few stations are reporting, should I take the locations with a grain of salt?
Looking forward to learning more from all of you! Thanks in advance.

System Blue Basic - Indicator Panel for Enclosure?
Posted by: DrFX - 2025-04-19, 23:28 - Forum: General Discussion - Replies (17)

Hi,

I have a System Blue Basic, is there a way to extend the indicator emitters to a panel on an enclosure for the Blue Basic? The older designs had the LEDs at the front of the board. Now they are in the middle.

Has anyone extended the status or indicator emitters to the front panel by way of ribbon cable or otherwise for the his System Blue Basic?

I'm wondering if there is an existing kit for the indicators I could leverage, or if I would need some kind of ribbon cable to extend the functionality out to a front facing panel?

What do you all recommend?

Thank you,

Kindly.

I'm wondering if I can upgrade the firmware on my system blue basic to 11.0b3 (2025-03-03) - Beta firmware

Which is listed on this website but only list for red and blue and doesn't specify system blue basic.

Dear all,

Just a quick note that my system blue mini arrived a few days ago (thanks) and when I opened the parcel it was fully assembled, except on component.
These are rather good news, but is it normal? Anyway thanks for assembly.

Kind regards,
Kellogs

  Building a ferrite-rod antenna
Posted by: Kellogs - 2025-04-08, 19:57 - Forum: General Discussion - Replies (1)

Dear Friends,

I recently purchased a system mini (received but not yet assembled) and I am looking for information on building an antenna. The most simple seems to be a ferrite-rod antenna. Where can I purchase such an antenna or build my own? I found this website https://www.ferrite-rod-antennas.de/ and contacted the owner.

Kind regards,
Kellogs

Hi to you all.
how do I reset my login credentials in the web-interface or is a factory reset the only option. I've searched the forum for an answer but didn't find any, sorry if I have overlooked any post which might have answered my question. I'm running Station 977 FW 10.1RED 10.4/12.3
Best regards,
