I recently set up a System Blue.

The Fault LED is turned on. What does that indicate?


The controller indicates a GPS signal and Network (GPS led blinks, Network LED is turned on)

I wasn't able to find a description about how the LEDs should be interpreted. Is there such a description?

Seit gestern aktualisiert MyBo nicht mehr bei einigen Usern. Gibt es ein Problem? Sieht so aus, als ob der Server nicht ausgelesen werden kann?

Ich finde es genial was Ihr zusammen geschafft habt und hänge andauernd vor der Karte sobald es donnert !
Nun würde ich gerne auch bei mir einen Empfänger aufstellen um ein Teil der Flächenabdeckung zu sein.
Leider fehlt es mir an jeglichen Mitteln um hier etwas teureres hinzustellen, wenngleich bei dem Dach, und auch unter der Terasse genügend Platz wäre.
Was löten etc. angeht bin ich relativ unbedarft...

Habt Ihr eine Idee wie ich helfen kann bzw. etwas hier in Münster aufstellen könnte ?

I'm adept at soldering SMD's (100-pin lqfp is a doddle!) - just 0402 resistors seem to Bother me - I'm 60 years old, after all. Can't find the damn things on the kitchen table (number of times I've tried to solder a breadcrumb onto a board...)

I've been looking at the site, and a couple of questions:
Where do I get the kit...and
My Internet connection (as most in Finland are) is 3G, not wired. Will that produce a significant delay, or is Blue 'smart enough' to send the network time along with the data?
Sorry, just learning about this, but as blitzortung has few detectors in Finland (nearest is in Kemi, about 100kM north of Oulu) I'd like to add to this.

All the pictures of the two or three ferrite antennas that are used for the BLUE systems show no shielding.

With RED it made a huge difference for the H field ferrite installation for me, once I grounded the shields.

Is this necessary for the BLUE system or does the type of input minimize the need for doing that extra work?

A rebuild of the mounting system for the antenna cores would be necessary if I'm going to have to eventually shield them.

I received my System Blue last week and am in the process of building the unit, antenna etc.  In the Blue assembly manual on page 5 mention is made of the circuit diagrams.  Where might I find these and is a full technical manual available for Blue as there was for Red?  In particular is the pinout for the USB power connector the same in Blue as it is in Red?

I have noticed that the yellow color used in the signal charts for channel 1C is really difficult to see against the white background of the lightningmaps.org signal charts. Orange would be better, but since it's used for one of the E-field channels on System Red I am not sure it's available. Are the colors coded differently for each board revision, or are they shared?

das letzte Blitzortungs-Treffen hat am 15. September 2012 hier in Schwangau stattgefunden. Es waren etwas mehr als 30 Teilnehmer dabei.

Es ist die Frage aufgekommen, ob man nicht wieder mal ein Treffen organisieren soll, in Deutschland und in deutscher Sprache, und daher möchte ich einfach fragen, ob grundsätzlich Interesse besteht. Bei so einem Treffen gibt es verschiedene Vorträge, aber auch Diskussionen und Unterhaltungen in lockerer Atmosphäre.

Ich stelle das jetzt einfach mal in den Raum und erwarte eure Kommentare bzw. stimmt einfach ab. :-)

Falls ein Treffen zustande kommt, muss man sich natürlich auf einen Termin und einen Ort einigen, und idealerweise sollte jemand aus der Community an eben jenem Ort dann die Organisation übernehmen. Das ist gar nicht so schlimm, ich kann da auch gerne Tips geben, da ich das Treffen 2012 organisiert habe. Ortskenntnis und der persönliche Kontakt zu Betreibern von Hotels und Veranstaltungsräumen sind für die Organisation natürlich ideal. :-)
